We Are Growing and Expanding in Scandinavia
The newly established Scandinavian Experience Group (Scan X Group), owned by Fotspor Holding, has acquired the Swedish agency, Scandinavian Incentives, a part of Haman Group. Scan X Group will function as a holding company for event agencies within the MICE segment, such as Fotspor Event (Oslo) and Scandinavian Incentives (Stockholm).
Both Fotspor Event and Scandinavian Incentives work within the MICE segment (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Events) in organizing events for larger groups within the business market.
The purpose of the acquisition is to facilitate corporate cross-border agreements.
“We want to provide our customers with a wide range of services both in- and outside of Scandinavia. The idea of establishing ourselves in Sweden was a thought that I had long before I received a very nice email from Annette Karlsson of Scandinavian Incentives”, says Håkon Wåge-Lorentzen, owner of Fotspor Holding and Head of Agency in Fotspor Event.
Anette Karlsson is one of the founders behind Scandinavian Incentives. The company is a part of Haman Group, with offices in Norway, Stockholm, Finland, and Germany. Her ambitions with Scandinavian Incentives was for it to cover the whole Nordic region within the MICE segment, but she has now chosen to sell the company instead.
“Lack of time was an issue. Although ambitions for growth was in place, we did not have the capacity to succeed. Metaphorically speaking the company is our little baby, and we want to see it grow up and continue to develop, but to achieve this we need a big brother to back us up”, says Karlsson.
The big brother in this case will be Scan X Group, owner of Fotspor Event, who just won the Luxury Travel Guide Award for their unique work within the MICE segment in Norway.
“We had already been in contact with a few Swedish agencies, to look at the possibility for expansion, however without any luck. After our first meeting with Anette from Scandinavian Incentives, we quickly realized that we shared the same thoughts and ideas for cooperation and growth”, continues Håkon
The most important factor for Annette was to find a partner who could further develop the company. This and more, she found within the Scan X Group, and signing of the contract took place in the early summer months.

Improved economy of scale
The acquisition of Scandinavian Incentives will not change operations, and our core business focus will remain the same.
“Scandinavian Incentives has been doing well for many years, so the company will retain its name and business focus. Our goal is to play on each other’s strengths and develop together in offering more services within the MICE segment”, says Håkon. Synergies between the companies, partners, and destinations are also very important. New contracts will be added into the Scan X Group, to include both subsidiaries. This will have a large impact on cooperation and operations in the future.
In order to ensure a smooth takeover, Anette will remain a board member throughout 2018. This will have many operational benefits for time to come.
“Anette knows the ins and outs of this company, so we are very pleased to have her on-board as a knowledgeable collaborator in time to come. We are looking forward to launching new projects and new collaborations”, concludes Håkon, who does not hide the fact that there will be more acquisitions in the future.
